The Team
Al Moncrieff-Smith FRGS
Al is an active promoter of wheelchair
opportunities in travel through his not-for-profit 'Wheel
the World' project which he set up following a spinal cord
injury in 1990. He has travelled extensively in South America,
Australasia and into Europe with ' WtW '
(Wheel the World Organisation ). These journeys
have always aimed to challenge stereotypes of disability and
raise awareness. The principle is to ensure that one is able
to interact with peoples and cultures, not simply to travel,
but to be involved in the life and culture of the countries
visited.
Matt Boddy
A keen sportsman, Matt plays rugby for
the Olney RFC. With four wheel drive experience, Matt has
travelled extensively in India, Sri Lanka and Europe. Following
training in Osteopathic Medicine, Matt is now undertaking
study in Electrical Engineering.
Terena Bailey
Born and brought up in New Zealand Terena
is an experienced traveller whose key motivation in life is
challenge and adventure, following journeys in Europe and
Africa, who is now living in the UK. Terena works as a Personal
Assistant predominantly with people with Spinal Cord Injury.
Suresh Paul FRGS
An experienced expeditioner, who has
for the past ten years been involved in the development of
opportunities for disabled people in Adventure Sport and Expeditions
through the development of equipment, community projects and
user-led research. Suresh has taken part in a variety of inclusive
expeditions travelling to Canada, Israel, India and Iceland.
